About New Leash Dog Training

It started because of one dog.

New Leash Dog Training was not born from a business plan. It grew from the experience of loving a rescue dog who needed more understanding than I knew how to give at first.

The story behind the name

Learning what my dog needed changed both of us

In 2022, after the pandemic, I adopted a rescue dog who came with more than a wagging tail. Fear, anxiety, reactivity, and uncertainty made everyday life challenging. Walks were stressful. New people were overwhelming. Simple moments that should have been enjoyable often became frustrating for both of us.

Like many dog owners, I quickly realized that love alone was not enough.

I spent countless hours learning how dogs think, why behavior happens, and how trust, communication, and consistency can transform difficult situations. I worked through setbacks, celebrated small victories, and discovered something important: behavior is not proof of a “bad dog.” It is information about what a dog needs in order to succeed.

The fearful, uncertain dog I brought home became a calmer, more confident companion. That journey changed not only my dog, but me as well.

It also revealed a heartbreaking reality. Dogs are often labeled “too much,” “too difficult,” or “untrainable” when their families simply have not been given the guidance, support, and practical tools needed to move forward.

Why this work matters

Helping dogs stay in the homes where they belong

Every year, families face the painful possibility of giving up a dog because of behavior they do not know how to manage. My purpose is to offer a better path: one that respects the dog, supports the owner, and turns confusion into a workable plan.

Whether your dog struggles with reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression, or simply needs help learning how to navigate the world, the mission remains the same—to create practical, lasting change through clearer communication and a stronger relationship.

Mission

Build trust and confidence

To help dogs and the people who love them overcome behavioral challenges through compassionate, practical training that builds trust, confidence, and lasting relationships.

Purpose

Create lasting partnership

The goal is not only to change a behavior. It is to help owners understand their dogs and feel prepared to guide them through real life.

Promise

A new leash on life

Every dog has a story. Every family deserves hope. Every dog deserves the opportunity to begin again.

The name has changed. The purpose has not.

About New Leash Dog Training

New Leash Dog Training reflects the heart of the work more clearly: helping dogs and owners move beyond the patterns that keep them stuck. A “new leash” is not about control. It is about a renewed relationship, a practical plan, and the possibility of enjoying life together again.

When owners understand their dogs, remarkable things can happen. Fear can give way to confidence. Chaos can become calmer. Frustration can become partnership.
